Andrew had promising talents and early accolades as a guitarist, singer and stage actor. He chose a professional life with the guitar in his late teens after performing Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez with the Richmond Symphony and appearing on NPR's From the Top. Andrew's youthful fascination with music continues, driven by the spiritual power of music to heal communities and inspire humanity's best instincts.
After winning awards and scholarships to study music, Andrew broke with any desire to make music competitively and chose a life of servitude instead. While performing full-time, he taught applied music, music theory and history in the Commonwealth of Virginia's university system for 12 years. He co-created free educational and outreach resources for developing musicians including the VCU Guitar Forum, Classical Revolution RVA, and RVA Classical Guitarists. In some of the region's most prestigious venues, Andrew facilitated fundraising events crucial to numerous charities as a society musician and live sound engineer. He self-produced a successful album and appeared regularly before the public as a concert artist.
During long nights on the road, Andrew dreamed of becoming a father. It came to be in 2023. Making music is the best way Andrew knows to pray for the world in which his daughter will live. His music becomes a more complete spiritual act, gradually, every day.
Despite an active performance schedule, most days Andrew cooks for his family; cleans and repairs the little old house he renovated with his hands; and learns things from his daughter. They live beside a creek in Richmond, Virginia.
